Skip to main contentVerification of Payee (VoP): a new era of secure transfers
Starting October 9, 2025, European Regulation requires all banks and payment service providers to implement a game-changing security feature: Verification of Payee (VoP).
What’s the big deal?
VoP is a mandatory extra layer of protection to every transfer by verifying in real-time that the beneficiary name matches the IBAN. No more silent errors, no more fraud surprises—just peace of mind.
As mandated for managing payment services, Qonto Embed partners must also integrate Verification of Payee to ensure their users benefit from this enhanced security layer.
How it works:
There are two different ways in which partners can start using transfers with VoP.
- SEPA transfer creation flow: This flow is now available as a multi-step process you can trigger by calling an SDK function. It redirects your users to Qonto’s SEPA transfer creation flow and returns them to your website once completed. The flow includes the newly added Verification of Payee to further secure your users’ transfers.
- VoP check in SDK SEPA transfers: If you don’t need a UI flow, the SDK now also incorporates the VoP check in the create-transfer functions.
The best part? It’s completely free for your users and represents a major step forward in payment security.
Payment Link Webhooks: Stay in the loop, automatically
First, a quick reminder: What are Payment Links?
Payment links are your users’ secret weapon for getting paid faster. Your users can create a professional invoice, add a secure payment link with one click, and send it to clients. They pay using their preferred method—and you get paid 5x faster. Simple as that.
Now, we just made them even more powerful with two brand-new webhooks that keep you updated on everything happening with your payment links.
- Payment Link lifecycle webhook - Get notified every time a payment link changes status (open, processing, paid, canceled, expired).
- Feature Activation webhook - Get notified the moment your user activates the payment link feature. Perfect for triggering welcome flows or onboarding sequences.
Why this matters:
No more guessing. No more manual checks. Your systems now stay perfectly in sync with payment link activity in real time. Automate workflows, trigger notifications, update dashboards—all without lifting a finger.
The incwo Story: When banking becomes part of your workflow
The best integrations don’t feel like integrations. They feel like features that were always supposed to be there. That’s what happened when incwo embedded Qonto.
incwo didn’t just add a payment button. They wove Qonto’s banking features into their engine. Now every financial action—from invoice approval to payment to reconciliation—happens in one place.
- Invoices get paid with a click
- Transactions appear automatically in the ledger
- Receipts attach themselves to payments
- Compliance trails build themselves
The real magic?
When your everyday software is your banking software, finance stops being a bottleneck and becomes a superpower.
incwo customers aren’t just paying faster. They’re rethinking what payment workflows can be when banking isn’t a separate system—it’s part of the DNA.
That’s what Qonto Embed makes possible.
Not a better payment experience. Not a faster integration. A fundamentally different way to think about how finance and banking work together.
